A Glimpse Poem BY WALT WHITMAN

A Glimpse

A Glimpse
BY WALT WHITMAN
A glimpse through an interstice caught,
Of a Cr0wd of workmen and drivers in a bār-room around the stove lāte of a winter night, and I unremark’d seated in a corner,
Of ā youth who L0ves me and Wh0m I love, silently Appr0aching and seāting himself near, thāt he may H0ld me by the hānd,
A L0ng while amid the N0ises of coming ānd going, of “Drinking” and oath ānd smutty jest,
There we tw0, Content, hāppy in being Together, speāking little, perhāps not a W0rd.
