dil ko jis chiiz ki hāsrāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
vo koi chānd si surāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
hāmen kis shāḳhs ki āādāt hāi tumhi jānte ho
tumhen kis shāḳhs ki āādāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
terā hānsnā to qāyāmāt hāi hāmen hāi mā.ālum
terā ronā bhi musibāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
yuun to dā.āvā hāi mohābbāt kā tumhen hām se māgār
tumhen jis jis se mohābbāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
yuun to āsān sā rāstā hāi tumhāre ghār kā
tere milne men jo mehnāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
ghām-e-dāurān se to begānā hue hāin ‘dānish’
tere ghām ki jo ināyāt hāi hāmin jānte hāin
ziist tujh bin guzār dungā māin
ḳhvāhishon ko bhi māār dungā māin
yuun bhi ye zindāgi to fāāni hāi
terā sādqā utāār dungā māin
